Graduated: Anne, Monica, Wendy (teacher), Laura, Me, and Shannon.
In early February this year I completed a personal styling course with Smitten Styling Academy Australia (SSAA). Wendy Mak (pictured above in the yellow skirt) is the founder of SSAA and also the head stylist at Smitten with Style. She was an amazing teacher with a wealth of knowledge. From this course I learnt so much and gained the necessary confidence to begin my own small business in personal styling. After a lot of thought and brainstorming I have come up with a business name; Head to Heels Personal Styling (hence the name of this blog). I am very excited to begin this new career adventure, and have begun organising a logo and business cards which will hopefully be done within the next couple of weeks.
The below photos are from the final day of the course. I was assigned to style Monica who wanted some weekend wear which would include going out for drinks with the girls, lunches, and date nights. After asking Monica a few extra questions and a quick pre-shop, this is what I came up with...
Top & Skirt: Sheike
This outfit could be worn out to dinner or to the bar. It's eye-catching, sexy, but still conservative. This outfit would definitely be worn with some heels and a clutch.
Skirt & Top: Sheike
The back of this top is amazing! And the colours really compliment Monica's skin tone.
{Monica's favourite outfit}
Dress & Jacket: Zara
When I saw this dress I knew it would be easy to dress up or down. The light denim jacket gives it a more casual feel, especially if worn with a pair of flat sandals or ballet flats. Perfect for Saturday lunch!
{Monica loved this jacket!}
Dress & Jacket: Zara
This dress can go from day to night. Simply remove the denim jacket, add some heels and some loose curls through the hair (like Monica's here) and you're ready!
Top & Jeans: Zara
Paired with a silver metallic or black heel and a clutch bag, this look would be perfect for a night out with the girls, or a with that special someone. If you wanted to tone it down a bit, add the denim jacket from the image above and some flats.
Top & Leggings: Bardot
Casual and comfy (but still stylish)! This top can also be worn with the white Zara jeans above.
What do you think? My favourites are the first and third outfits.
